Houchang Haghighi Scholarship Endowment

The interest from the endowment will be used to provide a scholarship for one (1) student each year. Students will have maintained a GPA of 2.7 or above for at least two (2) semesters. Students will also have shown a commitment to community service by working or volunteering at least 25 hours per school year with the elderly population, preferably at a local facility in the borough of Queens. All candidates will submit transcripts and essays to the Office of Student Affairs in accordance with their application process. The recipients will be selected by the Vice President of Student Affairs or his designee. The Foundation will use $8,000 of the Gift to fund the annual scholarship until the endowment principal has been established. They will be awarded in the increments of $1,000 per annum.
