Peter Greeman Scholarship Fund
All candidates shall have attended and graduated from a high school in the City on New York or from a high school located within 30 miles of the borders of the City of New York where at least thirty-five (35%) percent of the enrolled students qualified for a free breakfast and/or lunch. All candidates shall have completed and submitted the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the appropriate financial aid award year and/or have been awarded some needs based financial aid such as Pell Grants and/or subsidized loans. All candidates have attended and graduated from a college or university located in the City of New York or within 30 miles of the borders of the City of New York. All candidates shall have demonstrated an interest in one (or more) of the following: teaching, tutoring or otherwise assisting students in their community or the metro New York area. All candidates shall have been involved in extracurricular activities and/or community activities that demonstrate the candidate’s interest in helping others, serving the community and/or being involved in community affairs in an urban environment. Such activities shall include but shall not be limited to assisting in the creation and or maintenance of a community garden, coaching a team or individual sport, or participation in a civic or religious organization designed to promote a greater good within the community.
