Cora E. Alter Scholarship in Music Education

The scholarship shall be awarded to a Queens College Vocal Music-Education student distinguished by meritorious scholarship in the core music curriculum and excellence in education studies. The awardee will be a student judged to have high potential as an outstanding teacher and will be chosen annually by the Queens College Music-Education faculty. The award is not mandatory if there is no worthy student in the judgment of the faculty. The scholarship shall be given in the fall semester prior to the awardees’ start of the student teaching assignment and a close to September 17, as possible. Cora’s family may, from time to time, want to meet the awardee, possibly for a celebratory meal.
